still raining…

It climbs near our front door…

 

wet Australia day...

After 2 days of constant heavy rain the Wilsons River was up...

over it's banks into the surrounding park.

Happy Australia Day...

because of the rain and overcast skies Australia Day

has been spent fairly quietly...

...interesting graffiti on the side of the bridge!!

...we went to Victoria Park...simply to take pictures...

and it has wheel chair access which makes it easier for my DH!

no sewing...

A trip to Bunnings for some bags of pine bark...

then weeding the garden!

The weeds have got away with the rain and warm weather...

And I found this cute plant...

very romantic!

...the stems are plaited together!!

I like how bunny tales are making the blocks in spots

...I didn't have enough spots so I decided on these fabrics

I bought at the Brisbane quilt show in 2011...

I hope they have a slightly 30's look...

I had to start something new...when I should be finishing WIP!

I found an old quilters companion and there was an inspiring quilt...the points are a bit difficult...probably could be better...

tiny houses

...more tiny houses.  I'm happier how these turned out...

machine paper piecing takes a little practise...

I have never been pleased with how the stitches are loose

after removing the paper...maybe I should find some thinner

paper...anyway these turned out better then the first attempt.

I really like the tiny  houses in reds...

...this 1930's block is for a frienship quilt for a quilt goup friend!

time...

OK...the dream is to learn to take better pictues!!!

So I started a 365/366 pictures blog...

the day flies by with the everyday tasks and I haven't

taken a single picture...so I hurriedly find some inspiration...

the vase I bought at the op shop for $3 and then I had to find some flowers...

these roses were half price at Coles...

so now it's day12!!

I did manage a little sewing today...I will have to come back with

pictures tomorrow...

...life is slowly returning to the usual pace!

Our two sons have now gone back to their home and work...

that just leaves us here...the lawn is mowed for the first

time in 2012...the fridge is returning to everyday food...

and maybe in 2012 I will finish some of my WIP..

…found this coffee table today!

It was posted on the shopping centre notice board for sale…

turned out to be a neighbour two houses down was selling it!

even though it a bit chipped and needs some sanding and refinishing…

I love it…just what I wanted for the family room!

tiny scrap houses…

I made my first tiny scrap house…not the best picture.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to make them 3”, but now that I have made one…more will follow shortly.
I have 7 to catch up with one a day for the year…

today…

…we went to the movies to see Sherlock Holmes!

when we got home this tawny frogmouth was sitting on an old tree fern trunk…

I fitted in a little sewing today…started the just take two blocks…lots of fun!!

...my eldest son has gone back to WA.

It was so good to have him home for Christmas...

We are just having a relaxing time...

some swimming in the pool...only wish the temperature

would warm up a little for this time of year!
