little quilt...

This little quilt I started making last weekend...inspired by the pattern

in the latest Quilters Companion...called Melody 33!

I had these strips of Westminster fabric and I thought it was 

perfect to use them up!

Also, now I have a small quilt I can practice machine quilting on...

should I add a border or maybe just bind it in a black and white check!

I added this rose to my garden...it's called 'Soeur Emmanuelle'

named after a 94 yr old French nun...

...it has a soft, beautiful fragrance!

...I love perfumed roses!

I have been slowly organizing my sewing room...

I thought beginning to use it would

be the best way to work out where I want things to go!!

Trying to find time for some stitching...

wanting to blog everyday...but the day flies by!

touches of red...

...can I say just how much we are enjoying this house!

...we love this house!

...and my sewing room is nearing completion!

today Sunday...

...today was a beautiful sunny day!

So we went to our local market...it is a very small market held at the show grounds!

...pony club was also on in the show ground!

...today makes 3 times this year...it's usually raining or we have something else happening

when it's on...but today was fine and sunny!

This house is across the road from the showgrounds...

when my sons were young we lived 2 houses around the corner

from this house...see the beautiful blue sky!!!

...I usually find something at the market!

And today it was these books...

...then we went to Bunnings to buy skirting boards for the sewing room...these plants had to come home...

mini gerbera and white salvia...now planted in the front garden!

it's getting a make over...

...my son put down bamboo flooring when he was 

home last weekend!

Covered over at the moment until the room is painted

...still needs a window

which won't be ready to pick up till Tuesday.

...all the rooms contents have been on the veranda!

...and piled up in the lounge-room!

...I have been doing some stitching in the dining room. 

These are the fabrics I was playing with last weekend...no pinks!

...and that pot now has a bamboo palm!

Needs to grow a little...

...and this bench came from bunnings!

I'm very pleased with how these look at the front of the house

...just enough decoration with still keeping it simple!

afternoon...

today we went for a drive to 'the house with no steps'

it's a farm, cafe, and nursery where young people with

disabilities work...

there are tropical gardens to wander through!

...this was a pretty spot, the cafe is in the background!

...not a real crocodile!

no crocodiles around here...

...tropical flowers!

...and cup cake and coffee!

 ...and a big fig tree!

...we were looking for a pot and plant to brighten the front entry way!

I found a pot I liked...went and had coffee and thought about it

for a while and then went back to the nursery and bought it!

they will deliver it tomorrow...

hexies and spring

these lovely hexies arrived from Anna...

...and these from Patti

...I have been playing with these colours over the weekend!

...and spring has arrived when a duck goes swimming in

the pool!

...and the first snake is out sunning!

We knew there may be a snake once the weather warmed up

as we back onto a small bush area...

my sewing room is getting a make over...

my son laid down a bamboo floor over the weekend

next to paint the room,

than put everything back...

spring is here...

September 1...Spring is here!!

...we have been longing for spring to arrive!!

warmer days...and hopefully less rain for a while!

I have been practicing machine quilting...on a quilt!

first effort not the best...

...when I get better at it I need to finish these quilts!
