I spent all day trying to get these photos together for a header...
nothing was working ...they just didn't come out the right size.
Then I discovered picnik...fun editing etc.
The header isn't quite as sharpe as I would like...so next problem to solve.
Maybe it's just the photos.
This isn't getting any stitching done though...

As it continues to rain...and now our region has flood warnings!
Can't do much except stay dry...it doesn't flood where we live.
But I feel very sorry for everyone affected by the massive flooding.
My son can't get home to go back to work...so for now he is
working via computer and phone from here.

I started cutting out the hexagons

...and sewed together the first block of Reine des Albielles quilt.

...what I like about this quilt is the linen/cotton fabric with the
motifs...there is chairs, insects, birds and more!

...so for now I can only hope the weather clears soon.

Reine des Abeilles quilt kit...

..the door bell rang!
And there was this box...

...and inside!

...this beautiful quilt kit!
Reine des Abeilles...
all the way from the French General
...now I need to start cutting and stitching!
It can be made by machine...am I game enough...
or should I have a practice first!!

colour choices..

...can I love both!!

...I love the all white decorated houses I see on blogs
and think just buy white/cream things to add to my house.
And then I see something like this pretty jug...and I just love colour!
After all I quilt and that is all about colour!

So then my house is a mixture of both...

The hydrangeas are a bit spotty from the rain...but they
were the only flower I could find in my garden!
...found the jug at the local market today!
****
We only just had our pavlova from Christmas...
this is only a once a year treat!

...notice the white cake plate.
And I do love the look of those all
white houses...

word up...

hope...dream...wish

I was just reading this at http://shabbyartboutique.blogspot.com/
sounds like a good way to start 2011!!

...haven't progressed much with stitching over the Christmas break!

My son is still home on holidays...he was going back to work next week,
but as he works and lives in the flooded Rockhampton area he probably
will be staying longer...which is nice..
His unit isn't in a flood area, but as the roads are cut by the flood he can't get through.

The Christmas tree is put away...
We spent Christmas quietly...which was the plan...
a no stress Christmas!!
Seem to be a little slow at starting the new year...
maybe we are in holiday mode even though at home!
...or maybe it's just all the rain!!

I've been thinking about what to achieve in quilting this year...
a couple of new projects, and definitely finish some
already started!

...as 2011 begins all the new exciting BOM's are popping up
on blogs...which ones to make?

I'm tempted by this one...love the birds!

...and this one...cute birds too!

Wordup

...then I was reading at Charming Chatter to choose a word
for the year.

Previous I have liked joy... contentment...
so this year I will add ...hope...wish...dream
but mainly concentrate on hope...
