trip to Sydney...

...back home after going to Sydney this past week!

More doctors appointments...but we also did some tourist things!!

Sydney harbour from  a ferry

 Queen Victoria building...with lovely shops including the chocs below

...for some reason Queen Victoria had a quilt which was gone the next day...

We had lunch at this French patisserie at The Rocks...including

this yummy citrus tart

Next day we went to Taronga Zoo to see the baby elephants...

there are two baby elephants at the zoo...Pathi Harn and Luk Chai

...and this baby Koala was so cute!!

...there were some challenges going to Sydney with my husband in a wheelchair.

But we managed and I hope we go again soon!!

We have a new internet connection...it's so much more pleasurable...

instead of the slow, slow, waiting of before!!

I had been thinking about this quilt from Material Obssession's first book...

I have a very small collection of 1930's fabrics...but I still had to begin!!

..the background is seeded quilters muslin

...it's harder to get the points in the middle than you would think!!

green Friday...

green...green...green

I had all week to think green...but I still ran around quickly

taking green pictures!

'green all around me'

green grass...especially after 4 weeks of rain

green in the garden...more green then flowers

...then touches of green in my home

it was a lovely surprise to have won the fabrics and all 9 block patterns

...this is the first block I made before winning the fabrics!

Sometimes I wonder where the day goes...if I had plans to stitch today,

it just didn't happen.  Too many life things come up instead...maybe I'll fit

some sewing in tomorrow...can only hope!

My house is full of blue..blue quilts, blue cups, blue cushions,

blue collectibles...

..faded blue!

...and I love the blue, blue sea!

...trying to find the time for the things I enjoy!!

I managed to make a few more flying geese...but still have a long way to go...maybe I'll only make 12 blocks instead of 16...my borders/latice will have to be scrappy as thats all the fabric I have!!

lovely coffee...

...only discovered this little cafe at the end of our holiday or

I may have spent more time there drinking coffee!

...and a meal.

It was so beautiful tucked between a fishing shop and tattoo place...

Cio Bella Cucina served wonderful coffee all in a rustic atmosphere

with shabby outdoor tables, geraniums, herbs in pots, rustic windows and doors against the walls...

Also included a kitchen shop with a lovely French and Italian flavour...

...I want to go for coffee there just writing about it or even do a cooking course which was also available there.

 ...this church hillside was blooming with white crocus!

 ...and the inscription on the wall said 'in the glory of God'

 ...they were only flowering for a day  and spectacular!!
