I'm back home this week after being away north..

in tropical Queensland.

We went to visit our youngest son...

 ...the view from his unit, ocean over the roof top!

 it rained...

...beautiful by the beach!

 between showers...

 lots of photos of the beach...

we had a lovely time!!

 ...when I arrived home the washer swap was in the mail!

My swap partner was Anna at dillpickleunfinished

Anna's lovely surprise included these 2 crochet washers...

handmade rose soap...and nasturtium seeds.

...the soap perfume is just beautiful!!

And I'm excited to see what colour the flowers will be...

they say bright orange-scarlet flowers with variegated foliage

sounds wonderful!!

I have been wanting to make a quilt in these light colours for sometime...

I'm happy with how it turned out...

...decided to add a little embroidery!

...wanted the quilt to reminisce the hydrangea walk at Strawberry Hill farm!!

...and I think it looks a little like it!!

....today after the 6 month dentist visit I didn't feel like doing much

so I stitched a few of these paper pieced blocks

...now I am beginning to think what will I put between...natural homespun

or maybe a lovely pale yellow!!

I spent today unpicking some of the JRQ blocks.

...decided to take out the dark patches!

Somewhere along the way I had lost sight of how I wanted it to look...

...when I started I wanted the colours to look like a hydrangea garden.

I'm happier with the quilt looking pale and more even tones then

dark contrasts.

Now I need to decide what sashing fabric...maybe a plain mauve 

...also bloomin workshop tutorial on paper piecing...so I had to have a go!
