and kiwi fruit.

The recipe was from this Donna Hay book...

4 egg whites
1cup caster sugar
3teaspoons cornflour
1teaspoon white vinegar

very sweet but always a hit...the recipe from
this cookbook is very easy...crunchie on
the outside.
Piled high with fruit...yumm!!!

more holiday picture...

While on our holiday...we went on the Valley of the Giants
Treetop walk. That's where you walk on suspension bridges
through the tops of tall tingle trees.

...the walk was wheelchair accessible.

bubble bath with Urban Rituelle...

Time for a bath...my son1 gave me these lovely Urban Rituelle
for Christmas...
When he asked for ideas, I said anything from
the shop in Albany called The Bathtub.
The shop had such a lovely perfume...could
smell it walking down the street, shops away.
I love my present...

...it makes lots of bubbles too!

holiday photos-Strawberry Hill Farm WA

This is Old Strawberry Hill Farm...we visited while on holidays.
It's the first farm in West Australia. Built in 1836.
It was closed for restoration so we could not go inside.

The gardens are beautiful with a hydrangea lined walk...with every
different coloured hydrangea growing abundantly.

This building was used as the tearooms where
we had coffee, tea and scones.

It was an enjoyable couple of hours!

Karen's giveaway!

Karen is having a giveaway...it ends Friday.   And a very lovely, interesting blog.

day 1....A Simple Woman's Daybook

Monday, January 18th 2010.

outside my window... blue skies and sunshine
I am thinking...it's a beautiful day
I am thankful for...the holiday I just had-to visit my son
From the kitchen...just had lunch
I am wearing...shorts and cool top
I am creating...many things in my mind
I am going...for a walk to the doctors with my husband
I am reading...a Jodi Picoult book
I am hoping...to catch up on things since being away
I am hearing...the washing machine
Around the house...a little untidy, and weeds
One of my favourite things...sunshine
Rest of the week... stitching, exercising, some cleaning

A picture to share

It's called A Simple Woman's Daybook...I read about this
at Cinderberry Stitches and thought it might be fun
to join in...

Fabric buying on holidays...

Fabric I bought on holidays...one quilt shop had closed down, a new one called Patchwork Place just opened.  A craft shop that included patchwork was having a closing down sale and Albany had a newly opened Spotlight. So lots of opportunity to fabric shop.

These Kaffe fabrics I bought at Patchwork Place the newly opened patchwork shop in the centre of town.

These fabrics I bought at a very reduced price at the brand new Spotlight.
The two books were 20% off at the closing down shop.

I want to make this...

and this!

This is Albany's main street York St which is a hill
down to Princess Royal Harbour... a port
for cruise ships and export ships for wheat and grain.

The first day we were there, a cruise ship had arrived
and the town was very festive, with a market
and lots of tourists off the ship.

The Norfolk Island Pine in York St decorated for Christmas...

...and lit up at night.

Back home from holidays...

Back home today from 4 weeks holiday to the other side of the country.
We have been staying with son1 for the last month in beautiful Albany,
 Western Australia...

The trip was 10 hours by bus from Albany to Perth ...a day in Perth...
5 hours red eye plane trip...the eastcoast time is 3 hours ahead of WA,
so we arived back at daylight...
then 3hours by car to home.
So feeling a little tied at the moment.

First trip by plane, was an adventure!
