This magnolia has been planted for 2 years... it's only about 50cms high.

Has 3 other buds waiting to open.

Postcards from the Past Quilt

Today, I decided to do a little more on my Postcards from the Past quilt

by Robyn Pandolph. I started this quilt quite a few years ago, and because

I have picked it up at different times to work on it all the blocks aren't exactly the same.

...which is a little disappointing.

So today, I trimmed the blocks to the right size and began to add the borders.

Now I can clearly see what needs doing - to finish it.

...in a few places I will have to unpick and redo as the applique is

too close to the edge of the border.

Sunday was quilt group ...one of our friends has just come home from

her US holiday... she gave us each a potholder she bought.

Mine is this lovely blue and white...

washed the quilt from my bed today...that's the basket quilt.

And bought quilt romance...love the bright colours.

...now what can I make from it.

MIL turned 80

My DH's mother turned 80 this week...

this is her wedding day

..all the family were there.

Our eldest son couldn't be there, which was a little disappointing.

...this is the family album crazy quilt her daughter Annie made.
