The dust storm arrived here about 10am...and is getting worst.
All windows and doors are shut hoping to keep it out...
...doesn't make for a very nice day!
Just have to stay inside and stitch...

I found the perfect fabric for the backing of my boxes quilt...
"Sweet Adeline" for Red Rooster Fabrics
it's just the colours I used in the quilt...
Isn't it wonderful when things go right!
Yesterday...by the river
so peaceful and cool, clear water...

The bird house had repairs today...
it lost it's roof when the lawn man
cut branches off the mulberry tree.
..so today it's roof was reattached with me standing on a chair
and my DH helping from his wheelchair!
The birdhouse is a little low for birds to nest in
...but you never know.
...pansies looking happy in the sunshine.

I have been working on the boarder of bramble rose quilt
...enjoying everything about it, so making progress!
...tried the 2 step method of buttonhole and like the way it looks.
...found this recipe at french garden house
They are called palmiers...very easy to make!
This copy of the magazine with candied hexagons arrived in the mail
today...all the way for SA.
I have been wanting a copy of it...and asked on Southern Cross Quilters
it anyone new where I could find a copy.
Bev kindly gave me her copy...I was so thrilled!
It's interesting to see what fabrics were used in the original quilt.

Spring is here...daisies are in full flower... the days are warmer.
The end of winter was a couple of days of unusually hot weather...
This week I have sat by the river waiting for my husband to finish
his medical appointment...it's such a beautiful river, whether it's
sunny, windy, cloudy or even raining.
...though it is extra special when it is sunny and the water is clear
Yesterday...I traced onto fabric cinderberry stitches, sweet and spotty needle wallet.
it is part of the stitches angels 2009.
the little bird is so sweet...as it is called
...now I wished I had gone in the swap
maybe next time...
