Quilt retreat

I went to the quilt groups retreat this weekend just gone..
This year I only went for Saturday and Sunday...
didn't want to leave my husband on his own for many days.
I sewed together my Butterfly garden quilt...
others were working on a mystery quilt and stack and wack quilts
Even though I was only there for one night it was still a fun break...
I now have to find the right backing...something soft and pretty.
I am going to hand quilt the butterfly garden quilt.

pincushion swap...

My pincushion swap arrived today from the Netherlands..
Maya sent me this very pretty wrist pin cushion and fabric bucket
The package had been opened by quarantine and lavender sachets removed,
though as I opened it I could smell the lavender

They are very pretty and this swap has been fun...
this was the first swap I have participated in.
Sandy from U.S.A. emailed me to say she received the pincushion I sent.

glorious day...

Work on our towns bypass has begun...
the new road is close to our neighbourhood but further away then the
highway is now...so we hope not to hear noise from it when completed.
I found this at the op shop today for 60c...I have a small collection of these
and other house milk and sugar basins.
I had stopped adding to my collection because I didn't want it to
get to big, but when I seen this I had to buy it! The other side says sweeten to your liking.
The rain has stopped and the days have been glorious...
